Platon Lebedev's Lawyers to File Petition

Lawyers for Platon Lebedev are planning to petition the Meshchansky Court for his immediate release based on the fact that he is innocent of the charges filed against him. Elena Liptser, a lawyer for Mr. Lebedev, suggested Mr. Lebedev would be unable to defend himself because of the length of the charges against him, which could lead to irreversible health consequences. Lev Ponomarev, head of non-profit organization For Human Rights, has sent a letter supporting Mr. Lebedev to Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov.
