In 2006 Forbes pinned down a record 53 Russian billionaires. Their worth a total of $282 billion. The richest is the governor of the remote northern province of Chukotka – Roman Abramovich, his net worth is $18.7 billion. He stands on the 16th position in the list. Along with Abramovich there are 13 Russians in the list. It is Suleiman Kerimov, the owner of Nafta-Moskva (#35, $14.4 bil ), Vladimir Lisin, the owner of Novolipetsk steel mill (#36, $14.3 bil), Vladimir Potanin, Norilsk Nickel, shared his place with Mikhail Prokhorov, Interros (#37 and 38, $13.5 bil both), Oleg Deripaska, owns Russian Aluminum (#40, $13.3 bil), Mikhail Fridman, founded Alfa Group (#45, $12.6 bil), Vagit Alekperov, the head of Lukoil (#48, $12.4 bil), Alexei Mordashov, boss of Severstal, Russia's 3rd-largest steel company (#54, $11.2 bil), Viktor Vekselberg, Sual Holding, one of the largest aluminum companies in the world (#61, $10.4 bil), Vladimir Yevtushenkov, London-listed empire AFK Sistema (#71, $9.1 bil), Nikolai Tsvetkov, Uralsib (#83, $8.4 bil), German Khan, heads Alfa Group's oil business as executive director and board member of TNK-BP, and Iskander Makhmudov, the main owner of Russia's 2nd-largest copper producer in terms of output (#86 and 87, $8.0 bil each). The head of Inteko company Elena Baturina took 279 position in the list, her net worth is $3.1 bil. The average Russian billionaire is 46 years old, two years younger than in 2005.
