In October 2005 Platon Lebedev was sent to a special regime penal colony north of the Arctic Circle in conditions especially dangerous to his state of health. Just over a year later he was transferred to east Siberia, to the pre-trial detention centre in Chita where he is currently being held. His experience in both penitentiary facilities is documented, as are repeated applications to the local courts.
