They successfully overlooked all violations
The Ingodinsky district court has ruled on Khodorkovsky’s complaint.
Today the Ingodinsky district court in Chita decided that it could find no violation of Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s constitutional rights in the actions (and inactivity) of the investigators dealing with the new charges against him. It therefore refused to uphold the complaint filed by his defence team.
Many of the violations of investigative norms and procedures listed in the complaint were easily demonstrated. The court’s reaction came as no surprise, however, to the defence. “We are not surprised that the court turned down our complaint today,” commented Yury Schmidt. “It is far more surprising that the court formerly upheld our complaint of 20 March 2007. Today’s decision is one more confirmation of Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s words, that the Yukos affair is conducted in a realm beyond the reach of law”.
The former Yukos head’s defence team intend to contest today’s ruling.
