You Have Already Won the Battle - from the Moral Point of View
Dear Inna Khodorkovskaya,
I have decided to take this opportunity to express my admiration for your staying power. I do support you.
You, your husband and the people close to you have already become, willingly or not, part of Russian political life. Attitudes towards you are now determined from a political point of view and everything that is connected to those views. Of course, it is up to you to decide whether that is good or bad. At the same time, all the actions and steps you take are viewed through a magnifying glass through which all your actions are closely scrutinized and are considered with even greater bias.
In view of what I have said, I would like to underscore your fearless and exemplary conduct throughout those “proceedings of the century.” It is a pleasure and delight to see people who value their own dignity. It seems as vital to you as air for humans to breathe. We are trying to behave in the same way. We are proud of you. Please remember that.
Moreover, I strongly believe that it is not too late. On the contrary, this is just the beginning. As far as I am concerned, I have no doubt that you and your husband will win the battle. Generally speaking, you have already won it – from the moral point of view. Only a small step remains to be done.
In conclusion, I dare to offer to help you as far as I am able if you should have to solve any problems of a domestic, organizational or any other kind, both within Russia and abroad.
Thank you.
Sincerely yours,
Mikhail
