Kommersant Daily has the final say about Salavat Karimov.

The senior investigator at the Prosecutor General’s office for especially important cases, Salavat Karimov, has applied to take an early pension. Having led the investigation in the two criminal cases against Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Karimov found himself unemployed. The head of the Investigative Committee of the RF prosecutor’s office, Alexander Bastrykin did not offer him a job and Karimov turned down Prosecutor General Yury Chaika’s invitation to become his adviser.
